National Stakeholders Consultative meeting on implementation of the Uganda NAP on UNSCR 1325 & 1820 and the Goma Declaration

The two-day National Stakeholders Consultative meeting on implementation of the Uganda National Action Plan on UN Security Council Resolutions 1325 & 1820 and the Goma Declaration took place at Hotel Africana, Kampala, Uganda on 13th & 14th November 2018.

The meeting, whose theme was ‘Taking stock of achievements, progress and challenges of implementing UNSCR 1325 in Uganda’, was organized by CEWIGO in partnership with Akina Mama Wa Africa (AMwA), and with support from Synergie De Femmes Pour Le Victimes De Violences Sexuelles and UN Women.

A total of 60 participants that include representatives from the Ministry of Gender, Labor and Social Development (MGLSD), Parliament of Uganda, Development Partners, Local Governments, the academia, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), women in uniform, and the media participated in this event.

A report of the event containing what was discussed, recommendations made and resolutions agreed upon by participants on the way forward for Uganda to inform development of the third generation NAP for Uganda on UNSCR 1325, UNSCR 1820 and the Goma Declaration was generated and is available below.
