Meet the Team at CEWIGO

CEWIGO has a distinguished team from Board Members, to the staff that has helped run the day to day activities.

Ms. Bonnie Kiconco Kashaija Mutungi, ED – CEWIGO

The Executive Director who is the head of the Secretariat is a Social Scientist specializing in Governance and Development with sufficient experience in management and leadership. She has a solid mastery of conceptual and practical skills in Institutional Policy and systems, Quality management, Advocacy, coalition building and Training.  She has for the last 16 years been working in the area of Governance and Accountability.

Prudence Atukwatse

Prudence is the Program Manager and is responsible for Program Development, Planning, Implementation, Coordination and Reporting. She holds a Master’s Degree in Human Rights and a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences (Gender and Development-Major) of Makerere University; a Post Graduate Diploma in Public Administration and Management of Uganda Management Institute and a Post Graduate Diploma in Community Based Rehabilitation of Kyambogo University. She is pursuing a Master’s Degree in Public Administration and Management at Uganda Management Institute. She has undergone various trainings in lobbying and Advocacy, Project Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Peace building and Conflict Transformation, Policy Analysis and Research, Gender Responsive Budgeting and Financial Reporting. She joined CEWIGO in April 2011 as a Program Volunteer and she possesses more than 8 years’ progressive experience in gender equality programming; governance; women, peace and security, Engagement of Men and Boys; SGBV and Research among others.

Bajwera Winniefrey

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce majoring in Finance from Makerere University Business School and is currently undertaking a professional course as a Certified Public Accountant from the Institute of Certified Public Accountants Uganda.

She worked as a Finance and Administration intern at CEWIGO in 2017 and currently holds the position of Administration and Accounts Assistant. She is directly involved with coordination and running of activities in both the Finance and Program departments. She has wonderful skills in Mobilization, Multitasking, administration and positivity in general work.

She is a member of the Rotary Uganda Family and was once the Vice president of the Rotaract Club of Nakawa Mubs and is currently in transition to a community based club. She is also a member of the Young African Leadership Initiative Network (YALI).

Rodgers Ahebwa

Rodgers Ahebwa holds a Master of Business Administration Degree (MBA) from Makerere University Kampala and a Bachelor of Business Studies Degree from Kyambogo University Kampala. He is also a Member of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU).

He is a dedicated and result driven accountant with a strong background in creation and execution of successful organization policies with more than six (6) years of consistent experience in accounting and finance, taxation, Audit  and general office administration.

Rodgers has comprehensive knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Ugandan Taxation Framework, Corporate Code of Governance (CGC) and Internal Controls Design, Review and Evaluation. He also has strong knowledge and understanding of the financial reporting framework in Uganda and EastAfrica.

Angella Natukunda

She is currently working as a programs volunteer at Centre for Women in Governance. Her dream in life is to see women and girls and other marginalized groups access their rights.

She holds a Bachelors Degree of Science in Planning and Community Development at Mbarara University of Science and Technology. Angella is God fearing and hardworking. She worked with National Identification and Registration Authority.

Murshid Nsubuga

Murshid Nsubuga is Masters candidate from Makerere University and Hold a bachelor’s degree in Ethics and Human Rights from Makerere University. He a confident and motivated human rights advocate especially for the least advantaged in society who are voiceless with strong commitment in advocacy for women’s rights and gender equality. He has a comprehensive understanding of human rights instruments which provide for the protection and promotion of women’s rights and freedoms and approaches to advance gender equality. He is enthusiastic, self-motivated, reliable, responsible and hardworking person adaptable to all challenging situations and able to work well both in a team environment as well as using own initiative.
